Sound: soundstage, bass, and Dynamic Loudness

Marshall describes Acton IV with a wider stereo soundstage thanks to new tweeters and waveguide, with clearer channel separation in small to medium rooms (bedroom, desk, kitchen). The redesigned bass port delivers cleaner, stronger bass at high volume and easier placement near walls versus Acton III.

Dynamic Loudness (inherited from Home line III) balances tone at low volume so bass and treble do not thin out. Fine-tune further in the Marshall app with EQ and room calibration (placement compensation) for corner or wall placement.

Bluetooth 5.3, Auracast, and Marshall Heddon

Acton IV is an Auracast™ receiver: listen to broadcasts from hub Marshall Heddon (enable setup mode on Heddon, hold M-button on Acton IV to join) or from Auracast-capable phones/OS via Listen to Broadcast in the Marshall app.

Note: Acton IV has no standalone Wi-Fi streaming and no microphone/voice assistant. Whole-home multi-room needs Auracast (Heddon or a broadcast source); single-room listening still uses Bluetooth/AUX/RCA like a traditional home speaker.

Wired connections: AUX on top, RCA underneath

Acton IV adds RCA-In versus Acton III (3.5 mm only). On the actual product, the two ports sit in different places:

• 3.5 mm AUX on the top control panel (with Volume/Bass/Treble): quick plug for TV headphone out, portable players, adapters – no need to flip the speaker.
• RCA-In on the underside: connect a turntable (built-in preamp/line out or external preamp), CD player, or stereo line source; RCA cables typically run down the shelf for a clean front face.

Marshall FAQ confirms RCA for analog sources like turntables; Acton IV has no built-in phono stage. Official web specs sometimes list only “3.5 mm AUX” even though the speaker has both AUX + RCA.

Acton IV keeps Marshall amp DNA: vinyl wrap, metal grille, gold logo, brass top panel with analog Volume/Bass/Treble, signature power switch, improved media jog, and customizable M-button. The Acton III LCD is replaced by physical controls + app – suited to fast hands-on adjustment.

Designed in Sweden, made in Thailand. MDF cabinet is FSC™ 100% (wood content only); about 13% recycled materials per Marshall sustainability footnotes. Vegan-friendly wrap (no real leather). Available in Black and Cream.
