To speak of Marshall is to speak of gritty amps with a rare power that helped turn guitar greats into legends.
Marshall has been trusted by some of the world’s greatest bands and artists—Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Slash, Oasis, Muse, Gorillaz and Bring Me The Horizon. You can hear us on tour with artists like Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar and Lana Del Rey. None of it would have happened without our founder and innovator, Jim Marshall OBE, and his son Terry.
In 1966, a well-known local drummer and former student of Jim’s, Mitch Mitchell, began playing with a then relatively unknown American guitarist named Jimi. At one gig, a venue agreed to put Marshall stacks on stage; after playing through them, Jimi asked Mitch to introduce “the man who shared his name.” Marshall went global from there.
Things changed in 2010 when Marshall moved into headphones. We wanted to bring Marshall quality to more people with a new product line. Marshall launched the Major and Minor headphones with white script logo, black vinyl finish and rugged hinges. They were a hit, and today we offer in-ear, on-ear and over-ear options with ANC and voice technology.
Marshall headphones give you a distinct look wherever you are. On long trips, at home or in the studio, they deliver.
Marshall diversified again, this time with a range of home and lifestyle speakers. Our first two speakers, Hanwell and Stanmore, are named after key places in the Marshall story.

Listeners consistently praise their sound: balanced, detailed, true and highly musical. Marshall isn’t just playback—it’s a statement piece.
